Life is returning, tentatively but inexorably: This week, the first signs of spring are finding their way onto our menus—daylilies, sprouts, magnolia leaves. The first mushrooms are also making their appearance.

We're approaching our next etz season: Blossom & Sprout . Rich green is still rare, but buds, shoots, and early blossoms add delicate, bright accents to plates and fields.

From now on, we'll be in the garden every week. Among the still barren beds, the new year begins for us in the rhythm of nature.

This season is short. By May, it's usually already overtaken by the "fresh green."
